Small Church, Big Faith

Exemple

A friend of mine recently sent this excerpt from David Pawson’s commentary on revelation.

The church in Philadelphia was a busy little church. Jesus said, ‘I know your deeds’. They had this  glorious opportunity and even though verse eight might suggest to us that they were small in number and had little influence, that does not matter. A little church with a big faith in God can do much more than a big church with a little faith in God.  So their incapacity for witness was not a handicap. Jesus moves on to talk about their fidelity. This is the secret of successful service for the Lord. We are not called to be successful… Continue reading Small Church, Big Faith

Recently the leadership of Queensland Baptist published a manifesto or dream paper of what they see us becoming as a movement. As a leadership we were so excited by this manifesto we wanted to pass it onto you. In many ways it summarises our heart and vision as a church and we are so excited that the leadership of our denomination have made such a bold and faith filled declaration.

Ps Paul

We are indebted to our founding pioneers for their courageous tenacity, which set an example for us to follow and a legacy to pass on to the generations to come. Hebron: A City of Refuge

Not long after I came on staff at Rochedale in December 1999, God gave me a word to share with the church. The word was that we were called to be like Hebron, an Old Testament city of refuge.
The prophetic word had three parts.

Hebron was:

  1. A city of refuge for those who had accidentally killed someone.
  2. A place of inheritance and ministry training for Levites.
  3. A part of Caleb’s reward and inheritance.

At that time our church was experiencing a massive influx of people Continue reading Hebron: A City of Refuge
